In the closing remarks of the 2020 Virtual Society for NeuroEconomics Annual Meeting, Hilke Plassmann announced the award, saying, "Oriel has contributed significantly to our understanding of the neural basis of human social behavior. She is specifically interested in how the brain takes values and assesses conflict in reward and punishment contingencies during moral dilemmas and to examine the role of emotion and it operational power in shaping these social interactions."
